World Cup Watch Party Food Spread Algeria vs Jordan

Country: Jordan

Menu: Falafel, Hummus, Chicken Shawarma Wraps, Pita Bread, Knafeh Bites

Falafel

Ingredients:2 cans chickpeas drained, ½ onion, 3 garlic cloves, ½ cup parsley, ½ cup cilantro, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander, 2 tbsp flour, salt, oil.

Recipe:Pulse all ingredients except oil until coarse. Form small balls. Fry until golden or bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, turning once.


Hummus with Warm Pita

Ingredients:2 cans chickpeas drained, ¼ cup tahini, ¼ cup lemon juice, 2 garlic cloves, 3 tbsp olive oil, ½ tsp cumin, salt, warm pita.

Recipe:Blend chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt until smooth. Add water as needed. Serve in a bowl with olive oil on top and warm pita wedges.


Chicken Shawarma Wraps

Ingredients:2 lb shawarma chicken, 12 small pitas, garlic sauce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, parsley.

Recipe:Cook chicken using the shawarma marinade above. Slice thin. Fill pitas with chicken, vegetables, pickles, herbs, and garlic sauce. Cut wraps in half for party portions.


Pita Bread

Ingredients:12 pita rounds.

Recipe:Warm pita in foil at 325°F for 8–10 minutes. Cut into halves or wedges depending on whether you are serving wraps or dips.


Knafeh Dessert Bites

Ingredients:8 oz shredded phyllo or kataifi, ½ cup melted butter, 1 cup ricotta or sweet cheese, ½ cup sugar syrup, pistachios.

Recipe:Mix shredded phyllo with butter. Press half into a muffin tin, add cheese, top with more phyllo. Bake at 375°F until golden. Drizzle with syrup and pistachios.

Menu: Couscous Cups, Merguez Sausage Bites, Brik-Style Pastries, Roasted Vegetable Skewers, Makroud Date Pastries


Couscous Cups

Ingredients:2 cups couscous, 2 cups broth, 1 cup chickpeas, diced cucumber, diced tomato, parsley, mint, lemon juice, olive oil, salt.

Recipe:Pour hot broth over couscous, cover, and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff. Add chickpeas, vegetables, herbs, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. Spoon into small clear cups.


Merguez Sausage Bites

Ingredients:2 lb merguez sausage or spicy lamb sausage, toothpicks, yogurt sauce or harissa yogurt.

Recipe:Cook sausages in a skillet or oven until browned and cooked through. Slice into bite-size pieces. Serve with toothpicks and dipping sauce.


Brik-Style Pastries

Ingredients:1 package phyllo, 2 cans tuna or cooked potato filling, 2 eggs chopped hard-boiled, parsley, capers optional, melted butter.

Recipe:Mix filling. Place small portions in phyllo, fold into triangles, brush with butter, and bake at 375°F until crisp and golden.


Roasted Vegetable Skewers

Ingredients:Zucchini, bell peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper.

Recipe:Thread vegetables onto skewers. Brush with seasoned oil. Roast at 425°F for 18–22 minutes or grill until tender.


Makroud Date Pastries

Ingredients:2 cups semolina flour, ½ cup melted butter, ½ cup warm water, 1 cup date paste, cinnamon, honey syrup.

Recipe:Mix semolina, butter, and water into dough. Fill with date paste and cinnamon. Shape into small diamonds. Bake at 375°F until golden. Dip or drizzle with honey syrup.
