The Party Helpers just planned, organized, decorated and catered a jungle-themed baby shower. Yes, we did it all on this one! What fun! Ashley Goesling, the mom-to-be is a life-long family friend, so everything from decorations to drinks to games and food was extra special.
Guests were greeted with jungle-themed balloon arch and a Mango Paloma cocktail or mocktail ((tequila (or not), mango puree, Italian grapefruit sparkling soda, fresh lime juice and an orange twist)). The balloon arch is from Brenda's Rentals in San Jose.
Next, delicious hot and cold hors d’oeuvres including grilled prawn skewers with yogurt-mint tzatziki sauce, balsamic fig & goat cheese on flatbread, bruschetta spring pea toasted herbed crostini with pea puree and garnished with chopped tomato, avocado, light olive oil and red wine vinegar drizzle and baby spinach or arugula leaf.
Lunch was set with theme-inspired, beautiful tables, chairs, and place settings from Danny Thomas Party Rentals.
And what a lunch it was: mango spinach salad with mango, fresh berries, oranges toasted nuts, and orange-chive vinaigrette. Shawarma chicken with tahini and lemon, sugar snap pea salad with red onion, petite peas, English cucumber, fresh dill and mint with tarragon vinaigrette, mediterranean cous cous salad tossed with vegetables feta, kalamata olives, edamame and chick peas with lemon herb dressing.
And for dessert, bite-sized angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. After all that healthy, tasty, exotic food, a bite-sized dessert is the right-sized finish to a once-in-a-lifetime baby shower experience.
Baby mom Ashley Goesling was thrilled as were her jungle guests. What a unique and fun way to welcome a new baby to the village.
